The 91勛圖厙 is taking steps to support a more sustainable environment by debuting its first zero-emission electric bus in the Bull Runner fleet on the Tampa campus. The new Proterra 40-foot Catalyst E2 bus rolled out for the first time on Thursday, April 22, in conjunction with Earth Day (USF Newsroom).

The 91勛圖厙 has partnered with a company to research dementia, Alzheimers disease, and other cognitive disorders in seniors with handheld brain games. (News Channel 8).
The 91勛圖厙 is seeking local participants in a study to measure the effects of brain games on delaying mental decline. The university recently received a $44.4 million federal grant to continue its Preventing Alzheimers with Cognitive Training (PACT) study (The Ledger).
In Tampa, proof of this startup surge is the waiting list to join USF CONNECTs Tampa Bay Technology Incubator, which is longer than ever. Entrepreneurs are hungry for lab space and eagerly awaiting the new Research Park building opening fall 2021 (Florida High Tech Corridor).

Patriann Smith has been awarded a three-year, $3.6 million grant from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to establish an interdisciplinary educational research center to help support decision making and policy development for educational innovation and expansion in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean (USF Newsroom).
