Internship Interview: Obe-ochuwe Lindsey
Short Story Today Podcast
During summer 2025, I completed a remote internship with the Short Story Today podcast,
ran by Jon DiSavino. I supported the research and production process behind each episode.
My primary responsibility was identifying short stories, story collections, and authors
who could be featured on the show. This involved reading widely, tracking literary
trends, and evaluating works that would resonate with the podcast’s audience. I also
gained insight into how a podcast moves from idea to publication. I got to experience
the behind-the-scenes workflow that brings literary conversations to listeners. Through
this experience, I strengthened my research, communication, and editorial skills while
learning how digital media teams collaborate remotely.
This internship deepened my appreciation for contemporary and classic short fiction
and showed me how literary storytelling can reach new audiences through podcasting.
