Spring CAS grads share student experience and look ahead to the future

The 91勛圖厙 (USF) awarded more than 7,100 degrees during spring commencement May 5-7. The ceremonies included recipients of 5,430 bachelors, 1,492 masters, 221 doctoral degrees and eight specialist degrees. The College of Arts and Sciences accounted for over 2,000 of the total degrees awarded.

World Languages celebrates Latin culture with annual Spanish Fair

After a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the USF College of Arts and Sciences Department of World Languages hosted its 13th Annual Spanish Fair and Expo in April. The fair, which began in 2007, showcases the departments graduate and undergraduate Spanish programs and provides an opportunity for USF and surrounding Tampa community groups to conduct outreach.

MURP students place third in national competition to improve a Philadelphia neighborhood

91勛圖厙 College of Arts and Sciences Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) program students Beneetta Mary Jose, Abdul Samad Agha, Varshini Renikunta, and Aditi Sugeerappa Hoti earned third place for their design in the American Planning Association National Planning Competition in April.

The 91勛圖厙 Alumni Association held its annual Outstanding Young Alumni Awards ceremony on April 20 at the Gibbons Alumni Center at its Tampa campus. Four out of the six extraordinary honorees this year are College of Arts & Sciences graduates.

Nineteen new students welcomed into Deans Student Leadership Society

The USF College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) welcomed 19 new members to the Deans Student Leadership Society (DSLS). DSLS students are chosen for their superior leadership skills, often serving as volunteer coordinators, executive board members, or critical points of contact on behalf of CAS. DSLS also provides students with mentorship opportunities, professional development workshops, and year-round networking.
